Life chapters: Saturn return, Uranus opposition, Chiron return
When is my Saturn return, and why do sites give different dates?
Signology dates each life chapter as the days a slow planet is within one degree of the point that marks it, using NASA JPL data. The first Saturn return comes at about age 29, the Uranus opposition at about 39 to 45, the Chiron return at about 50 and the second Saturn return at about 59.
How Signology works it out
- Signology reads where Saturn, Uranus and Chiron were at noon UTC on your birth date, from NASA JPL positions every two days.
- Each chapter has a point: Saturn's birth position for both Saturn returns, the point opposite Uranus's birth position, and Chiron's birth position.
- Around each chapter's usual age, it finds the days the planet is within one degree of that point.
- The season runs from the first such day to the last; the closest is the exact date. Saturn can pass its point up to three times, so its seasons last from about two weeks to ten months.
A worked example
For someone born on April 10, 1996, Signology dates the first Saturn return from May 18, 2025 to February 24, 2026, with Saturn closest to its birth position on August 26, 2025, at age 29.
Why another site may show something different
Astrologers use different windows: the two to three years Saturn spends in its sign at your birth, a margin of two or three degrees, or simply an age such as 29. Signology's one-degree window gives shorter seasons with firm dates.
Without a birth time, Signology reads your birth at noon UTC and checks every two days, so its first and last dates can be a day or two off an hour-by-hour count.
Check it yourself
Open JPL Horizons, choose Saturn (or Uranus, or 2060 Chiron), keep the observer Geocentric and pick observer ecliptic longitude (quantity 31). Note the longitude on your birth date, then step through the years around the chapter's age to find the days within one degree of it, or of the opposite point for Uranus.
What tradition links with it
Astrologers read these chapters as seasons of review: weighing the life others expected at the first Saturn return, wanting more room at the Uranus opposition, gathering what hard years taught you at the Chiron return, and harvest at the second. One small step this week: write down one thing you have outgrown and one you want to keep.
See when each of your four life chapters is in season.
